Two steps forward…one step back…
Ugh…I truly hadn’t stepped on a scale since the last time I went to the doctor a few months ago. At that time I was 160 so when I signed up for buddyslim that is the weight I entered. So the gym where I work out is having a “maintain don’t gain” challenge that starts tomorrow and goes through January. I wanted to sign up but the honest truth was I was too damn afraid to step on the scale and see if that 160 was still true. So I did a “secret” weigh in on the scale in the locker room….to my dismay is said 165. I was so disappointed and frustrated and also mad. So I put my gym clothes on anyway. I warmed up on the stationary bike for 15 minutes then hit the free weights and worked my arms. When I didn’t want to do that last couple reps I reminded myself about those 5 extra pounds that I now have to lose because I didn’t realize they were there. Damn it!
Nothing has really changed. Knowing it didn’t make you gain those pounds. You already are fixing the problem. You just are more fully aware now. Just keep doing what you know you need to do!!
I agree with Beebee. Also remember that different scales are going to show different weights. Different times of the day and what you are wearing and where you are in your cycle are also contributing factors. The key to weighing in is to be consistent. That five pounds may not even really be there. One of my other buddies thought she gained 10 pounds in 4 days…guess what? She is down 11 pounds today! Don’t let it discourage you. You did the right thing getting the workout in anyway.
Anj gave some great advice! Just stick with it. You read my blog and you know I don’t like the scale either.
Consistancy, determination and will power will take off the 5 lbs and some. Have a great day!

I have done the two set dance for the last month so I am totally understanding where you are right now. I hate how it is so hard to get off yet so easy to put on. GRRR!
Great Job on finishing your set.
